Parents... advance payment makes sure that your child has a booked place, last year we had to turn people away. If you want to pay before the Block dates send a cheque to the Treasurer indicating which sessions you wish to attend (Block 1,2 or 3 Red, Orange or Green) Red-1030-1115, Orange-1115-1215 & Green-1215-1315.

Mini-Tennis LTA

Mini-Tennis is a wicked game, designed for anyone from 4 years old upwards.

It's fun & easy way to learn the game of tennis and a great way to make lots of new friends.

There are three levels -

  • Red - where you can learn the basics.
  • Orange - where you develop your skills on a 3/4 size court.
  • Green - where you're playing on a full tennis court.

Once you're good enough and have mastered green, then you'll move onto tennis.

There's also an award scheme, where you can collect stickers as you learn skills.  There are 9 levels of awards and at the end of each, you'll get a STICKER.

Don't forget to bring your awards sticker book with you if you have one. Also bring a Friend a long with so they can give Mini-Tennis a try and join in the fun with you... If you or your friend would like to join the awards scheme ask the coach for an application form...

BELOW ARE SOME IMPORTANT TIPS FOR THE YOUNG Mini-Tennis PLAYER...

• Always warm up and stretch those muscles before you play
• Always cool down after playing by doing some stretching and 5-10
minutes slow jogging.
• Remember to drink plenty of water during practice and play. And sip it, don't gulp down huge quantities in one go.
• Try to maintain good eating habits, both at home and when you are away playing in a tournament. That means having regular, healthy balanced meals with plenty of energy foods like pasta and lots of fresh fruit and
vegetables.
• Train sensibly and plan your time. You need to ask an expert before setting out on any new training programme. Why not contact the local gym for help?
• When training on or off court, think about the quality of your shots first, then worry about quantity and consistency.
• Enjoy your sport
• Play other sports. This will help your overall fitness levels.
• Make time for other interests like friends, hobbies, and the dreaded homework.
• Get a full night's sleep. Sports people usually need more sleep than non-active people.
